I'm going down the garden to eat worms................Egg total: 27

After the trip to the allotment  - which I absolutely loved - I got in another hour or so gardening - aided and abetted by the banties of course.

You might have noticed in previous posts, that beside the Peckingham Palace there is a fenced off area.  It used to be where the chickens lived, but I moved them out this winter as it was such a bad one.  I took out the ark and shelters and put the raised beds in.
Straight away the chickens came in to join me

And when I moved a log, or shelter, they dived in digging for worms which reminded me of this song

Nobody loves me, everybody hates me,
I'm going down the garden to eat worms.
Long ones, short ones, fat ones, thin ones,
I'm going down the garden to eat worms.

Long thin slimy ones slip down easily,
Short fat hairy ones stick!
Bite their heads off, suck their guts out.
Throw their skins away

That is how I'll live and thrive
On worms three times a day!
I'll let them in to dig to their hearts content.

That is until these beds are filled with soil and planted.
I need to add at least two more raised beds in here.

These are going to be my salad, and strawberry beds.  We get rabbits in our garden and together with pigeons they are a real pest .  I fenced off areas of raised beds outside my studio but this is the perfect solution - and I get my flower beds back.

I'll keep  you updated on these too over the summer.
